Canberra, ACT
Canberra is the capital city of Australia. The name Canberra means “meeting place” in Aboriginal and was chosen to reflect the location’s importance when it was established as a Federal Capital City in 1908. The Parliament House, from where laws are made and taxes, are collected lies at its heart, while other government buildings are scattered around the city. Surrounded by parkland and bush, the city is filled with government offices, public parks and museums.
